Although many people see aquariums as nothing more than a tank to display fish and other types of marine life, aquariums can easily become terrific tools for education. The Great Lakes Aquarium in Minnesota has already figured this out. For years, this popular aquarium has sent teachers and educators throughout the community to share their knowledge about nature, environmental sustainability, and more. Recently, it was announced The Great Lakes Aquarium is getting a new addition that is focused on education.
With help from a new $25,000 investment, the second floor of the aquarium is being converted into an education center for visitors and students alike. The first floor of the aquarium already has a few classrooms, which will now be used to showcase exhibits while education will be the main focus of the second floor. Aquariums are a great way to begin an intelligent, thought provoking dialogue. Beginning with aquatic life and nature, and leading to environmental care, natural resources, and energy conservation, aquariums can bridge many diverse topics together.
If the educational benefits of aquariums have piqued your interest, you may think about visiting aquatic centers more often or even purchase your own aquarium. For more information about aquariums and aquarium products, get in touch with the knowledgeable team at Arizona Aquatic Gardens!
