What Should You Use for Aquarium Decorations?

September 26th, 2012 azgardens

This is a good question. Of course, the simple answer is – anything that Arizona Aquatic Gardens sells. Anything that you get from us will suit any aquarium as beautiful decorations. But, if you’re looking for some specific ideas, here are a few:

Petrified Wood – Technically, petrified wood is not wood anymore. It’s crystallized wood, composed of quartz and other minerals. This amazing bit of nature retains the appearance and cell structure of the original wood, but is actually a hunk of beautiful mineral. It looks beautiful and will not harm the balance of your aquariums nutrients.

Base Reef Rock – As you’ll see on the product page, this stone is composed of calcium carbonate and limestone structures aragonite. Of course, that means that this stone will not leech any contaminants into your water, making for another beautiful and harmless decoration.

Driftwood – “But wait… doesn’t wood float?” you ask. Well, normally yes, wood does float, but not our driftwood. This stuff will sink right to the bottom of your aquarium. Plus, we pre-treat and clean our driftwood so any piece that you get will be completely safe for your plants and animals.

Let us know if you have any questions about our aquarium rocks and decorations. We’d love to help decorate your aquarium!
